Sodexo Case Study

My task for this blog is to visit three social media websites for the company Sodexo and give my opinion to the following questions.

Question 1: Why might potential employees find Sodexo's content engaging?
The content featured on the Facebook, Twitter, and Sodexo Career blog websites offered a mixture of content that appealed a broad variety of people. From the sports content to ethnic related stories; from nutritious information to professional guidelines, these websites offer something that everybody can relate to

Question 2: In what ways is Sodexo using social media to reach their target audiences?
The usage of sites like Facebook and Twitter allow Sodexo to relate and communicate with potential clients on a more personal level. Interactive surveys, like “what’s your favorite NFL team?” found on the blog and Facebook websites, allow Sodexo to draw people in by catering to football fans. This particular survey may convey the message that fans of football can find careers with companies who have the same interests. Even if the companies Sodexo works with do not like football, this particular survey could be enough to get potential clients in the door.

Question 3: How might Sodexo measure the effectiveness of their individual social networks?

Sodexo could use “click-tracking” tools to see how many people have searched their websites and “clicked” on their links. Additionally, Sodexo can use survey methods to find out how the clients became aware of the company and what kinds of information they found was useful. Based on the information gathered, Sodexo can determine if the content on the websites had a correlation with the number of new clients over a specific period of time.

  1. This is another spot on reply. I think that Sodexo is making real headway into making recruiting more proactive. They are able to engage with prospects and make them feel more a part of the company and community with the diverse content.

  2. I agree with gatnaatstudent' s post in regards to making potential hires feel like part of the company. Most employees like to feel like they are a part of something greater than themselves. Sodexo's social media presence creates a positive impression of what their working environment could be like, which is appealing to potential employees. Gone are the days when you only have to rely on word of mouth about a company's reputation, now you can experience it first hand, without ever stepping foot in a building!
